Video File Size Help
Videos must be smaller than 95MB to upload via our online upload tool. Uncompressed high-definition video, such as the MOV files created by iOS, will tend to be significantly larger, but there are ways to rectify this problem.
iOS Devices
On Apple iPhones and iPads, you can't change video resolution before recording, and an iPhone recording at full HD resolution will average around 180MB per minute of video. But there are apps available that can compress the video for you prior to upload. One such app is called simply, "Video Compressor" by Jiin Jeon. It will allow you to select a target file size, and compress the video to fit within our requirements.
It is a good idea to set the target size to slightly less than 95MB, as files may end up being slightly larger than your target size.

Android Devices
Given that there are so many different Android devices, video file sizes – and the ways to control file size – may vary greatly depending on your device and/or Android version. Many Android phones allow you to change the video resolution in your camera settings. Options usually include:
- 1920x1080 (Full HD/1080P)
- 1280x720 (Broadcast HD/720P)
- 320x240 (SD)
The higher the resolution, the larger the file will be. We have found that older Android devices that use the 3gp file format at 720P will result files that are approximately 1MB/second, so a 90-second video would be around 90MB. Newer devices that use the mpeg-4 format at 720P will approximately 1.5MB/second so a 90-second video would be around 135MB.
But as with iOS, there are apps that will compress your video to a smaller file size. Search "Video Compressor" in the Google Play Store to find them.
